The mighty husky skiers had another wonderful season on the slopes, setting new records and traveling to different mountains. After months of dry land training and months of on-snow training the Men's Ski team qualified for regionals at Sugarloaf, ME. Finishing 3rd at regionals gave them a spot to compete in nationals for the first time in UConn history! On March 9-15th the men's team raced their hearts out in Lake Placid, NY earning a 4th place finish overall in the USCSA national championships, the best result ever from a club team. Freshman Griffin Struyk finished 10th overall. We are very proud of our men's team and all the hard work they put into the season.
The women's team had a great season as well, finishing in the top at almost every regular season race. Unfortunately after going through a triple tie-breaker to qualify for nationals they were just 1 second short. Literally.
As the ski season comes to a close and the warm weather is rolling in the men's and women's team are meeting with future husky recruits and looking forward to next season.
Like always we love our friends, family, fans, and alumni support. Please like our UConn Ski Team Facebook page and spread the word of the mighty husky skiing nation!
